Advertorial Policy
(727) Magazine’s advertising process is a collaborative effort in which clients are heavily involved in several important steps. Your participation ensures we craft an advertisement that is interesting to the reader and delivers results. Unlike other magazines, most of our ads are created from scratch. We construct the story, shoot the photography and have our designers put together a final ad. Read the following steps carefully. They will explain your involvement in the process.
Story/Copy
- A writer contacts you to arrange an interview.
- In that interview, the creative direction and objectives of the story are determined.
- You are asked the "Key Things to Know" about your business. These are 4-6 quick facts of which the reader should be made aware.
- Once the interview is complete, the writer sends you a draft of the story within 48 hours via e-mail or web.
- You have 48 hours to review the copy.
- Once you have read the story, you are asked to approve it as is or offer any necessary revisions.
- You are allowed only one round of revisions, therefore thoroughness with your review is crucial. Any further changes may require additional charges.
- If there are revisions, our writers take them and rewrite your copy.
- The copy is submitted to you again for final approval. Once approved, the writer asks you to sign off on a final copy.
- The selected copy is submitted to our graphic designers for ad production.
Photo Shoot
- Our photographer calls you or your representative to arrange a professional photo shoot.
- At that time, the photographer discusses the shoot’s location and creative direction.
- Once the shoot is complete, our photographer downloads and selects the best images.
- Those images are sent with a link via e-mail or posted online for you to review.
- You are asked to select your favorite images for use in the ad. You are limited to the number of images allowed for your ad size.
- Once images are selected, our staff retouches each of them.
- If you ask for additional design work, such as silhouettes or advanced retouching, additional charges will be added.
- The selected and retouched images are submitted to our graphic designers for ad production.
Graphic Design
- Once our graphic designers receive the final draft of the ad copy along withÊtheÊretouched images, they begin production on your ad.
- The ad is designed and submitted to you by e-mail or online.
- You have 48 hours to review the ad.
- Once you receive the ad, you are asked to approve it as is or offer one round of minor revisions.
- Any additional changes to the approved copy or photographs will constitute an extra charge.
- You must confirm your changes have been made and approve your ad.
- If there are further revisions, extra charges may be incurred.
